3 Steps to Fabulous Winter Skin

With rain and snow covering most of Northern California today, it is the perfect time to talk Winter skin care. Follow these 3 easy steps to keep your skin looking its best in cold weather.

Dermalogica Climate Control Lip Treatment .15 oz
  1. Protect from dryness. The cold winter air outside coupled with the heater indoors can dry skin out in a hurry! Switching to a more intensive moisturizer during this time of year is a great idea.
My favorite:  Dermalogica's Intensive Moisture Balance.
  2. Protect from sun damage. We often neglect to apply sun protection in the cooler weather. UVA and UVB rays are no respecter of seasons. (or your skin) Diligence is key when it comes to protecting your skin from sun damage. After all, the sun's harmful rays are the number one cause of aging skin.
My favorite: Dermalogica's Mulivitamin Body Block SPF 20 for the body and Extra Rich Faceblock SPF 30 for your face.
  3. Protect from harsh weather. The cold wind and air can cause chapped, dry, stinging skin. Add a barrier of protection when you are out in the Winter elements. This is especially important if you are a snowbunny/skier.
My favorite: Climate Control Lip Treatment. (Before you hit the slopes, use this all over the face, not just on the lips. It's like a chapstick for your face! Great for men and women.)
Following these steps will help you protect your skin and keep it fabulous during the cold weather. What extra steps do you take to protect your skin in the Winter? Please share in the comments below.

I recommend these products for most people, but this post does not replace personal, professional skincare analysis. To ensure you are using the correct product for your skin type and for best results, please seek the advice of your salon professional before starting any new regimen.
