How To Style The Messy Bun

The Messy Bun is a very popular and very easy go-to style.

Here is what you'll need:
• An elastic ponytail band
• Bobby pins
• A pick or comb

Here's what to do:
1. Back comb your hair all over at the roots.
I like to use my magic pick, but a wide-tooth comb will work. This will help hold the style on place.

2. Decide where you want your bun and smooth hair with fingers in that direction. Finger combing will add a little texture to the style.  Secure with an elastic band, but only pull hair half way through the band on the final loop.

Step #2

3. Wrap the loose ends around band to hide it and secure with Bobby pin. You can split the ends in sections and wrap separately, or wrap all ends together.

4. Grab a small piece of center hair and pin to the outside. Secure with pin. Grab a second random piece and pin to the outside, opposite the first.

Embellish with silk flowers or other hair accessories.

The messy bun is a great style, whether your hair is short or long, fine or thick.
Play with the amount of teasing or back combing you do, depending on your hair's texture. Pin more hair up if necessary, curl the hair first, add mini braids, whatever you like. Create your perfect messy bun and share a link to it here! Leave a comment to inspire others.
